Show Not Tell

The day I was told that I was getting a dog!

The Day I Was Told That I Was Getting A Dog!

Last holidays I slept over at Ella’s house. In the morning I tried to wake Ella, finally she opened her eyes, and stood up. I was on my laptop, Ella picked up her ipod and started to play animal jam with me.

Later on in the morning, Ella asked her mum if we were allowed to make omelettes. Ella chopped up bacon, and added lots of pepper to the creamy omelette mixture. Ella poured about half of the mixture into the pan, the omelette began to sizzle and spit.

After all of the fun that I at Ella’s house, it was time to go home! As the car was stopping my mum came to greet us. I knew Ella’s mum would stay a while, that meant Ella and I could play. I opened the door, and hopped out of the car.

I didn’t expect anything exciting to happen that day.
My mum said hello, but then she said ‘Emma you have a early birthday present!’ I began to bubble with excitement, I have been begging for a puppy for ages now, and maybe I might be getting one! I tried not to get too excited about the puppy. I knew that I would be disappointed if it wasn't what I thought it was. ‘What is it?’ I asked., ‘the dog she replied’ ‘which one?’ I ask, unable to control my excitement! The Briard my mum says, I jumped up and down, I grinned.

I went onto trade-me and showed Ella the black furry puppy that I was getting. Later on, Ella had to go home. I said goodbye to Ella and her mum, and went back inside. My parents and I talked about the dog,

only to be told that we would only have the dog in six weeks.

Things to do if your are a bird!

Things To Do If You are A Bird!

Flutter above green bushy trees,
and fluff up your colorful feathers.

Hop around on the soft fluffy grass, then churp a lovely chune.

Nibble crumbs that people scatter on their lawn, And slurp up delicious worms.

After a big long day, curl up in your cosy nest and go to sleep.
